It’s all about the horror this week, whether it be the Blu-ray releases of An American Werewolf In London and Army Of Darkness, or the contemporary cult horror shockers Deadgirl and Grace, or the hit-and-miss anthology series Fear Itself, or the DVD debut of two long storylines from the gothic soap opera Dark Shadows. But for those less interested in monsters, corpse-rapists or zombie babies, there’s still plenty to pick from here—especially if you’re into documentaries. The cleverly constructed bio-doc Trumbo, the searing Vietnam War doc Winter Soldier, and the surreal Iraq War doc Full Battle Rattle are all recommended. Also intriguing: the new DVD of the original Fame, as well as the first-and-second-season set of the Fame TV series. That show really is going to live forever.
