Dwayne Johnson claims the title of world’s highest-paid actor
Take that, Vin Diesel (we guess): Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, currently in a ridiculous feud with his Fast franchise co-star, has been deemed the world’s highest-paid actor by Forbes, raking in $64.5 million in 2016. This, according to Forbes, is thanks to his paydays for Central Intelligence and the upcoming Fast 8 and Baywatch. So it’s good to be muscular and beautiful and a seemingly jolly guy when not pissed off about Ballers-related insults. Diesel, meanwhile, is number seven on the list. Must suck to be a “candy ass”.)
Johnson takes over the title from Robert Downey Jr., who is now in eighth place, tied with Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan. Downey apparently just didn’t have as much Marvel cash rolling in this year. Coming in second is Jackie Chan, due primarily to his work in China. According to Forbes, “as a producer/investor and actor, he benefits from government censors looking kindly on his films.” You can see the full list—which also includes Matt Damon, Tom Cruise, and Johnny Depp in the third through fifth spots, respectively—here. Earlier this week, Forbes revealed that Jennifer Lawrence tops the actress side of things.
