Dwayne Johnson to continue helping people by yelling at them, this time for HBO
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has always had a passion for yelling at people. As a wrestler, he yells at his opponents about the various meals he is cooking. As an actor, he yells at Vin Diesel about car stuff, or he yells at Brendan Fraser about scorpions, or he yells at Channing Tatum about Cobra. We’re not dismissing his various terrifying talents, we’re just saying he’s good at yelling people. In fact, he’s so good at yelling people, that he’ll soon have two TV projects about yelling people. The first is TNT’s Wake Up Call, in which The Rock encourages people to better their lives by yelling at them. It’s like that show Made on MTV, except if things get too hard and you decide that becoming the star cheerleader isn’t worth the trouble, The Rock will break you in half with his big muscles.
Johnson announced his latest project on Instagram, and it sounds like Wake Up Call turned up to Hard Mode. Titled Rock & A Hard Place, it’s going to be a documentary produced by HBO that puts the eponymous Rock in a Beyond Scared Straight-style situation with a bunch of imprisoned youths. Filmed in “one of the most unique and successful boot camp prisons in the world,” Johnson will “break these young offenders down in a hardcore way,” and then he’ll “build them back up” so they can become better members of society once they’re released. Johnson wants to show the world—and the kids involved—that you can still turn your life around even after making a bunch of bad decisions, like he did. Of course, if Johnson is successful, all of these kids could grow up to be The Rock, and while one The Rock can only do so much, an army of The Rocks could easily take over the world. Well, the world’s action movie franchises, at least.
