Ed Helms producing family comedy for CBS

Deadline reports that Ed Helms’ Pacific Electric company and Universal TV have partnered to produce a multi-camera family comedy for CBS. The project, written by Archer’s Mike Arnold, follows a man named Steve Kurtz, who’s forced by ridiculous circumstance to live with his recently divorced sister. Naturally, sitcom law requires him to take on part of the parenting duties for her twins—because only then will he curb his formerly extraordinary lifestyle, and learn the type of life lessons inherent to television comedies. It’s just the latest project from Helms, who’s also developed an animated comedy for NBC and a series about a lady attorney for ABC, covering all the network and network show bases.
