Edward James Olmos is joining Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Edward James Olmos will join Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. later this season, according to The Wrap. The former Miami Vice star is best known to genre fans as the steely Commander William Adama on Battlestar Galactica, and now Olmos will bring a similar gravitas to the role of Robert Gonzales, a new character in Marvel lore. While details are being kept under wraps, Olmos is slated to appear sometime in the latter half of season two, which returns March 3. Gonzales’ debut will apparently “have massive repercussions for Director Coulson and his team.”
Olmos follows in the footsteps of former BSG costar Lucy Lawless, who popped up in the season two premiere of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Should Katee Sackhoff or James Callis have some free time later this year, the series might as well go for the BSG hat-trick. So say we all.
