El-P and Killer Mike starting on Run The Jewels 3 in January

Work on the third Run The Jewels record will begin next month, according to Killer Mike. The rapper made the statement Tuesday at a record store Q&A in London, with partner El-P confirming the news via Twitter. El-P also said that he’s meeting with Rage Against The Machine’s Zach De La Rocha soon, but notes that “the ZDLR thing is not at all 100 percent,” and asks fans not to “fuck it up by jumping the gun.”

There’s no confirmed or even rumored release date for RTJ3, obviously. El-P tweeted that the group’s about to “take a year to tour the world,” so it could be a while.
