Electro-pop duo YACHT just released a pretty great anti-NSA single

Perhaps inspired by Matmos’ Edward Snowden-referencing Undercover session (or, you know, totally not), electro-pop duo YACHT has recorded its own NSA-inspired single. “Party At The NSA” is uplifting and dancey, but also charitable: The track is available for download on a pay-what-you-want donation basis, and all proceeds from sales will go to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, one of the best-known and most active Internet rights organizations. According to YACHT’s Claire Evans, the duo made the song “to make protest fun.” “To think that the government feels entitled to trample around on our turf is aesthetically repulsive,” says Evans. “No one wants to dance when there’s cops in the club.”
