Since Ballers first came to the airwaves two years ago, the question has vexed TV viewers who have nothing else in their life to think about—who’s a fan of this show? The series, which stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as a retired NFL player and financial manager, is not very good, and outside of aimless Entourage fans who just left the TV on HBO after that show ended, it’s not clear who’s enjoying it. Now, we know the answer: progressive senators.
Senator Elizabeth Warren sent out a message of support last night for the Writers Guild Of America, which just narrowly avoided a strike after reaching a tentative agreement with the Alliance Of Motion Picture And Television Producers. This means Warren won’t have to miss a moment of desultory sex jokes or Rob Corddry doing things, as we learned from the very end of her post that she and her husband are huge fans of the sort-of comedy.
This, of course, allows us to add another line to the steadily growing list of things Elizabeth Warren really likes:
- Equal pay for equal work
- Universal healthcare
- Corporations paying their fair share of taxes for once in this damn country
- Ballers
- LGBTQ rights
