Emma Thompson says artists shouldn't shy away from politics

Assaults on human rights; inadequate disaster aid; threats of thermonuclear war; and the slow, steady warming of our planet. These are just a few of the problems the world is facing right now, and actor Emma Thompson fears that artists have gotten too complacent when it comes to speaking out on these issues. In the video above, Thompson encourages her fellow artists to be vocal and get involved, and recommends starting with Naomi Klein’s latest book, No Is Not Enough, to get informed.
