Deadline reports that Emma Thompson will likely join the cast of absolutely necessary sequel Men In Black 3D, playing Oh, the head of the deceptively gender-neutral Men In Black organization. (“Oh” is the character’s name, and certainly not a sigh of indifference on our part.) Presumably, Thompson is being brought in to class up the joint in the wake of Rip Torn, whose recent dances with the demon bottle have apparently rendered him a risk that director Barry Sonnenfeld and his insurers simply can’t take. Of course, there’s still the chance he’ll turn up; after all, you never know when Rip Torn is just going to wander into something.
