Emma Watson and Miles Teller are reportedly pissed they didn’t do La La Land
For those who are not too keen on La La Land, watching the musical clean up at awards shows may elicit a certain amount of exasperation. For Emma Watson and Miles Teller, seeing Damien Chazelle and company pick up trophies apparently comes with the bitter sting of regret. At one point Watson and Teller were in line for the roles that ultimately went to Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, and, according to someone who blabbed to Page Six, the two are currently “freaking out and looking for someone else to blame.”
Per Page Six, both the one-time Hermione and the dude who was harassed by J.K. Simmons in Chazelle’s Whiplash were reluctant to get on board for La La Land. A different source revealed that Teller wanted $2 million more than he was initially offered. Mind you: Teller has a different story of how this all went down. He told Esquire in 2015 that his agent relayed him the message that Chazelle went a different direction after deciding Teller wasn’t “creatively right” any longer. (Teller sent a text in response: “What the fuck bro?”) Meanwhile, Watson reportedly insisted on rehearsing in London and, despite efforts to appease her on behalf of the production, decided to sing for Disney’s Beauty And The Beast remake instead.
“Now both Miles and Emma Watson are raising hell with their agents for not securing the roles for them—even though it was the actors’ fault for being too demanding,” the source told Page Six. That’s a juicy bit of gossip, but whether you choose to believe it is your call.
