Emmy broadcast censors Griffin's speech

You probably don't care much about the Creative Arts Emmys, which just helps to emphasize how petty this is: The broadcast of this year's awards will edit out some Jesus jokes that Kathy Griffin made in her acceptance speech last weekend. Luckily, the Associated Press has preserved some of her remarks, which drew complaints from known asshole and Catholic League president Bill Donohue. Griffin said: "A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus." However, the CL's own press release on the matter helpfully fills us in on something the AP story omits: "Suck it, Jesus, this award is my God now." Thanks, Bill!

And, while we're on the subject of mildly controversial broadcasts, the Janet Jackson Super Bowl thing is heading to a federal appeals court.
