Entertainment reporting on an entertainment reporter: Mary Hart leaving Entertainment Tonight
With the conclusion of Entertainment Tonight’s third decade of broadcasting celebrity info, longtime host Mary Hart will bow out on her own terms. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hart, who has been with ET since 1982, announced in a statement released today that after nearly 30 years on the job she’s calling it quits because it’s “time for a change.” Without getting specific, the blithe blonde and former Miss South Dakota alluded to “many” ambitions beyond entertainment reporting. Early rumor has The Insider anchorwoman Lara Spencer taking up Hart’s mantle at the conclusion of the 30th season of ET, which premieres September 13.
