ER’s Eriq La Salle to glower at Hugh Jackman in Wolverine 3

Fox continues to line up the crew for Hugh Jackman’s final turn as an aging, sword-handed dog man as ER star Eriq La Salle signs on to appear in 2017’s Wolverine 3. We’re not sure who La Salle will be playing in the film—which is rumored to be an adaptation of the “Old Man Logan” storyline from the Wolverine comics—but we’re guessing it won’t be someone who’s overly given to smiles.

La Salle—who starred for eight seasons on NBC’s landmark medical drama—last appeared as a recurring character on Under The Dome for CBS. He joins a cast that includes a surprising number of notable television actors, including Patrick Stewart, Stephen Merchant, Narcos’ Boyd Holbrook, and Jackman himself, who got his first big break by appearing on Australian TV. For his own part, it’s actually been a while since La Salle—who spends much of his time these days directing TV shows like CSI: Cyber and Once Upon A Time—was in a motion picture, but apparently director James Mangold is confident that he can still make his soul shine through.
