Escape Plan is getting a sequel for some reason
You’d think a movie starring Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger as prisoners trying to escape from a high-tech black site would be a big hit, but director Mikael Håfström’s Escape Plan wasn’t quite as memorable as its cast list would lead you to believe. Perhaps everybody would’ve lost their minds over it if the movie had come out in 1993, but since it came out in 2013, it only ended up being a reasonably successful action gem. That being said, it still apparently did well enough to warrant a sequel, with Deadline reporting that Sylvester Stallone is “prepared” to reprise his role as security expert Ray Breslin. Unfortunately, he’ll be relegated to a supporting role this time around, with Schwarzenegger not expected to appear at all. Original writer Miles Chapman is returning for the sequel, but he’ll have his work cut out for him since this movie apparently won’t have the stuff people liked about the last one.
