Every Star Wars reference from The Big Bang Theory, seasons 1 to 8

It’s hard to imagine a sitcom more likely to incorporate Star Wars references than CBS’ The Big Bang Theory. There were at least 50 references made in the show through season eight, and one fan has created a 59-minute video that shows each one in chronological order.

Season one had the fewest number of references, and season seven, which includes Sheldon’s night out with James Earl Jones, had the most. Lightsabers have been seen on the show at least 10 times, including the double lightsabers above Howard’s bed, the lightsaber Leonard uses as a glow stick, and the lightsaber belt buckles Raj makes for himself and Howard.

Star Wars references range from lines like, “I sense a disturbance in the force” to Sheldon’s Star Wars sheets to Leonard’s Star Wars underwear, Darth Vader shampoo, and Luke Skywalker conditioner. There’s Sheldon trying to use a Jedi mind trick on Stephen Hawking, Wil Wheaton’s Jar Jar Binks impersonation, and Amy and Bernadette’s Star Wars cake. Sheldon’s resemblance to C-3P0 is brought up at least twice, and, whenever Penny doesn’t know the answer to a question, her first guess is always Star Wars.

James Earl Jones and Carrie Fisher both appear in season seven, episode 15, when Sheldon tracks down Jones at his favorite sushi restaurant, where they bond over their love of Star Wars. After dinner, they share a banana split, ride a Ferris wheel, sing “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” at a karaoke bar, ding dong ditch Carrie Fisher, and end up in a sauna (after visiting a strip club, which viewers don’t actually see).
