Everybody's just growing up so fast in the thrilling trailer for Stranger Things' third season

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s rat-filled teaser comes the trailer for Stranger Things’ third season, which, oh so fittingly, kicks off with the sweet strains of goddamned Mötley Crüe.

“Home Sweet Home” is our guide as the camera catches up with our six central characters—Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max—in the summer of 1985 and, oh dear, they’ve just all grown up so much. With that growth, the trailer suggests, comes cracks in their friendships, the likes of which will surely be tested by the beasts bubbling to life in the trailer’s back half. Oh, and it’s all going down at the mall.

There’s so, so much to sort through here, from whatever that gas-masked thing to that silenced pistol to Billy being a hunky lifeguard to Jake Busey being evil to Nancy’s fluffy-ass hair. And then, of course, there’s the Dustin and Steve connection, which looks to be thriving, even if Maya Hawke—who looks and talks exactly like the child of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke—thinks its weird.

Speaking of Steve, though, things aren’t looking so good for him this season…

*gulp*

Watch the full trailer above ahead of the season’s July 4 release.
