Everyone can chill because Paul Feig won’t direct another reboot

Ghostbros, relax. The other properties you’re bizarrely, aggressively passionate about are safe from Paul Feig’s meddling, feminist hands. In news that will cause some to rejoice and more reasonable people to shrug, Feig has said he will never reboot again. The Huffington Post asked the Ghostbusters director whether he’d ever consider remaking another property, and he seemed pretty definitive. “No, no, no,” he said. “No, I will not.” You got that? It seems like he’s saying “No.” Feig explained that doing Ghostbusters was “just too tempting because I knew we could do something with it that was exciting,” but his reign of childhood ruining is now officially over.

It’s unclear what Feig’s next big, live-action project as a director will be. He’s producing an Amy Schumer-Goldie Hawn comedy. But while he’s unlikely to try his hand at revitalizing an old franchise again—which is probably better for the film industry anyway—he’s probably still going to continue working with funny women who don’t give a shit about outdated gender roles.
