Just in time for the release of Grand Budapest Hotel, this video essay from the good folks over at Way Too Indie takes a look at director Wes Anderson’s distinctive visual style in his own words. Using audio from various interviews and video from not only Anderson’s films but his inspirations, editor Nelson Carvajal digs right to the heart of the man’s creative process. There are no groundbreaking revelations contained within, but it’s nonetheless interesting to hear Anderson break down his style, which, as the video will remind you, is crazy beautiful.
