Nickel Creek surprised longtime fans earlier this year by announcing a reunion tour and album, after having spent seven years on the sort of “indefinite hiatus” that seemed pretty permanent. The album, A Dotted Line, captured everything great about the acoustic trio without missing a beat. One song stuck out, though: the frantic cover of a relatively obscure song called “Hayloft,” originally by the Canadian band Mother Mother. Now Nickel Creek has released an animated video for their version—directed by Steven Mertens—that you can exclusively see below.
