Exclusive: Here's Wye Oak's creepy new video for "Glory"

Wye Oak’s new album Shriek came out yesterday, and Erik Adams already told you how great it is. Now we’ve got the exclusive debut of “Glory,” a kinda creepy, kinda ’80s video directed by Michael Patrick O’Leary and Ashley North Compton. It features ice cream, cigarettes, gold shoes and beads, and a wristwatch, which may or not represent something else. Compton had this to say about the clip: “The video explores an internal and external power struggle and a fear of loss of control—through the lens of youth, anxiety, ease, and tension. The narrative follows youth-oriented themes, colors, styles and struggles with jarring and uncomfortable characters and movements. The editing and format allow for notions and items to be broken and reformed, given and taken back. Feelings of impulsivity and unsettledness are evoked.” Enjoy.
