Exclusive: Kurt Braunohler and Kristen Schaal chat up comics on Hot Tub LP

Kurt Braunohler and Kristen Schaal are the creators of Hot Tub, a weekly variety show they’ve hosted for 11 years. That’s in addition to being hilarious comics and actors in their own right, which means they’ve got a real eye—or is it ear?—for talent. Braunohler and Schaal have featured many a comedian on their show in that time, including Schaal’s Bob’s Burgers co-stars Eugene Mirman and John Roberts. It’s enough to make you wish you could join them all at the Virgil for the live show. Well, you can enjoy the next best thing later this month—no, not Bob’s Burgers on ice. It’s Hot Tub With Kurt And Kristen—Live At The Virgil, a live compilation featuring Braunohler and Schaal’s hand-picked favorites. The A.V. Club is premiering an exclusive clip from the forthcoming double LP, in which Braunohler and Schaal recognize their international impact.

Hot Tub With Kurt And Kristen—Live At The Virgil includes live and stand-up performances from Mirman and Roberts, as well as Aparna Nancherla, Eddie Pepitone, Karen Kilgariff, Kyle Kinane, Beth Stelling, Andres du Bouchet, Emily Heller and Heather Lawless. The double LP will be out on Kill Rock Stars November 25, a date which you might recognize as Black Friday/Record Store Day. The digital album is available for preorder.
