As one of the few costumed crimefighters that holds a successful day job without hiding her superhero identity, She-Hulk’s past ongoing series have emphasized workplace comedy, and that tradition continues in Charles Soule’s current run on She-Hulk. Jennifer Walters has started her own law practice and this new business endeavor has brought all sorts of new pressures for the emerald attorney, leading to a steady stream of laughs as She-Hulk encounters Tony Stark’s legal team and tries to grant Dr. Doom’s son amnesty in the United States.
Featuring slick, stylized art by the guest art team of artist Ron Wimberly (Prophet, Prince Of Cats) and colorist Rico Renzi (FBP, Southern Bastards), a new two-part storyline begins next Wednesday focusing on the Blue File, a mysterious case Jennifer inherited that includes herself and various associates as defendants. She has no recollection of the case, and in this preview of next week’s She-Hulk #5, Jennifer begins her investigation by visiting the home of Herman “The Shocker” Schultz, who is currently bringing the funny as part of the Superior Foes Of Spider-Man cast.
The striking cover by Kevin Wada promises appearances by obscure Marvel characters like Nightwatch (no, that’s not Spawn) and She-Hulk’s on-again/off-again boyfriend Wyatt Wingfoot, and fans of Marvel’s feline females Hellcat and Tigra will want to check out #5 to see the two characters have an intense sparring session.
