Exclusive: Zach Galifianakis video diary from the Merge Records box set
Merge Records released a massive box set called SCORE! last year, in honor of the venerable indie label's 20th anniversary. The set was delivered in pieces throughout the year, and it included ridiculous amounts of exclusive music and visual goodies. There were fourteen discs curated by fans of Merge, including actor-comedian Zach Galifianakis, who included a special video diary on his disc. It's never been available online before, but in the interest of pimping this very lovely box set—Merge has a few left, and they'd like you to consider buying one—they've offered us the video as an online exclusive. It's below. Below that, complete info on the box itself.
— Fourteen CDs with original cover art and bonus content from curators such as Kara Walker, David Byrne, Mindy Kaling, Amy Poehler, and more. Bonus content includes exclusive new recordings from The Minus 5, Lou Barlow, Destroyer, and others. Andrea Zittel, Zach Galifianakis, David Chang, Miranda July, and Phil Morrison provide exclusive videos for their compilations.
— The Covers! CD featuring Merge songs covered by non-Merge artists including Ryan Adams, The Mountain Goats, The Shins, The New Pornographers, and more
— The Remixes! CD featuring Merge songs remixed by non-Merge artists including Four Tet, Jason Forrest, Mark Robinson, and more
