Explore the dusty tombs of these celebrities’ old Myspace pages

Back in the early days of social media, Myspace was the place to be if you needed to express yourself through 25-question personality surveys, obnoxious auto-playing music, and an incredibly revealing selection of your top eight friends. As it turns out, it was also the place for soon-to-be international celebrities to post their contrived witticisms and blurry mid-2000s selfies. Truly, stars, they’re just like us.

Of course, Myspace has been redesigned and revamped so many times in the past 10 years that most personal pages are beyond rescuing, but a new piece from The Guardian highlights a few A-listers’ pages that can still be put on horrifying display.

Some of these were created after the celebrity had begun the long road to superstardom. Like Katy Perry’s page, which acts as sort of a quaint promotional tool, littered with so many broken jpegs it’s difficult to look at.

While other pages were clearly put together by normies with no concept of how embarrassing this would all look in the near future. Lana Del Rey, for example, has a personal music page under her real name, Lizzy Grant, which bears very little resemblance to her iconic pop persona. Tom Hiddleston still has his results from a “Superhero Personality Test” in his bio section and, hopefully with a sense of irony, lists his favorite movies as “La Dolce Vita. Heat. Meet The Fockers.”

If you can brave the thousands of dead hyperlinks and slowly deteriorating html, take a trip back to a more innocent time before celebrities were celebrities and before we all knew what a hideous-looking website we were spending our time on.
