F.C.C. suffers legal malfunction

In a great decision for F.C.C.-haters and boob-lovers everywhere, a federal appeals court has overturned the nearly unprecedented $550,000 fine levied against CBS for the infamous Janet Jackson "wardrobe malfunction" during the 2004 Super Bowl Halftime Show. The court felt that the F.C.C. had overstepped its bounds in exacting such a large fine for an incident of "fleeting indecency," which it's mandated to exempt. What's more, the court determined that Justin Timberlake and Jackson—the exposer and the exposed, respectively—were "independent contractors" hired for a limited purpose, and any fines against CBS and its affiliates were misdirected.

Other details and legalese can be found here. Jackson's boobs are now free to terrorize a shattered nation once more.
