Fab 5 Freddy makes anti-war statement (to the wrong president)

In the latest instance of a pop-culture figure getting way too much credit for bitching about the Iraq war and/or Bush administration, AllHipHop.com reports that graffiti artist and longtime hip-hop booster Fab 5 Freddy confronted (excuse us, "took on") former President George Bush at Monday's New Orleans Saints game (which also marked the official reopening of the Louisiana Superdome) and told him: "We need to bring the troops home!"

According to the former host of

Yo! MTV Raps, Bush replied, "We must win this war." Fab 5 Freddy said he reiterated his call to bring the troops home to Bush, who was being shuffled away by associates. The former President reportedly came back to Fab 5 Freddy and said "I don't really have anything to do with it."

Which is technically true, in that non-conspiratorial way. But you've got to take out those urgent strategic ideas on somebody. AHH's brief item conveniently shaves away the derision of the New York Post story it credits. You know, there's something about that Superdome reopening that's brining out the statement-making jackass side of music figures, perhaps as much as the war itself.
