Faith’s on a mission to save history in this Faith & The Future Force exclusive

Valiant Comics has put a lot of effort into making Faith Herbert a major part of its superhero roster, and with the conclusion of her Eisner Award-nominated ongoing series, Faith is moving on to even bigger things. Faith And The Future Force sends the heroine on a journey through past, present, and future of the Valiant Universe as she teams up with the time-jumping Neela Sethi, who was last seen in the wonderful Ivar, Timewalker series. Neela needs Faith’s help to save all of history, and it’s a proposition the Doctor Who-loving Faith can’t turn down. This exclusive preview of Faith And The Future Force #1 establishes Faith’s current civilian situation and her first encounter with Neela, setting her on a path that will lead to Faith taking charge of a legion of Valiant heroes to save the timeline from annihilation.

Faith writer Jody Houser sticks around to explore this new phase of Faith’s superhero career, joined by artists Stephen Segovia and Barry Kitson and colorist Ulises Arreola for this first issue. Segovia and Arreola did striking work together on the most recent Ninjak storyline, and these preview pages showcase Segovia’s crisp linework and Arreola’s ability to energize dialogue with bright, sleek coloring. The final panel gives readers a tease of the threat Faith and Neela are facing, and Faith having never heard of Adolf Hitler indicates that they’re up against a foe that is altering history. Hitler being removed from the timestream seems like a pretty good thing on the surface, but any big changes like that are going to make ripples that could have disastrous consequences for the future. Readers can join Faith and Neela on their quest to save all of time when Faith And The Future Force #1 goes on sale July 26, but in the meanwhile, this excerpt gives Faith newbies the chance to learn more about Valiant’s breakout star.
