Fall schedule announcement: CBS senses weakness in its rivals, swoops in to steal the few nights it doesn’t outright own
Announced ahead of its Wednesday upfront presentation to advertisers, CBS’ fall 2013 schedule is largely a case of not fixing what isn’t broken. The major differences to the schedule viewers are seeing now versus what they’ll see this coming September and October are in areas where the network already dominates: Moving Person Of Interest to Tuesdays at 10 should tighten The Tiffany Network’s NCIS-aided deathgrip on that night; watching NBC’s Thursday night finally dissolve has inspired an attempt to form CBS’ own answer to the old Must-See TV comedy bloc anchored by the aging-but-surging Big Bang Theory. And now that we’ve met The Mother, CBS hopes we’ll want to meet Mom on the same night, with the new Anna Faris sitcom closing the network’s other weekly comedy onslaught.
The schedule follows. New shows are in bold and all caps.
