Fantastic Four and Wolverine sequels added to all the other upcoming Marvel movies
Despite the release of the new Fantastic Four still being over a year away, Fox has demonstrated a show of confidence in both the film and in the continued public interest in comic-book movies by slating a sequel for July 14, 2017. Fantastic Four 2: The Rise Of “The Rise Of The Silver Surfer” Jokes will be preceded on March 13 by the previously announced follow-up to The Wolverine, while the prime release date of July 13, 2018 has also been earmarked by Fox for a “mystery Marvel film” that may well be X-Force, which Kick-Ass 2’s Jeff Wadlow was hired to script last year. However, The Hollywood Reporter speculates it may be a Fantastic Four/X-Men crossover film, the development of which was hinted at when Fox first announced its intention to carve its own interlocking Marvel universe out of the increasingly rare territory not already annexed as such. It’s also possible it’s just a static, 110-minute shot of the word “Marvel;” whatever the case, announcement of its sequel is expected shortly.
