Ricky Pempengco, a 40-year-old construction worker and estranged father of Charice Pempengco of the television show Glee, was stabbed to death Monday after an altercation with a drunken man. A manhunt is currently underway for the murder suspect, who stabbed Pempengco in the chest and back with an ice pick, according to police. The attack was provoked by Pempengco bumping into the man at a grocery store in the the township of San Pedro near Manila; it appears that there was no prior connection between them. There is currently a reward of 20,000 pesos (or $470) for information leading to an arrest. The 19-year-old Pempengco, a singer-actor who has a recurring role on Glee as Sunshine Corazon and is a pop star throughout Asia, reportedly lost touch with her dad after her mother left him when she was a young child.
