February is shaping up to be a busy TV month, with network shows like Abbott Elementary and Ghosts finally returning. There are plenty of action dramas to look forward to as well, including the Donald Glover– and Maya Erskine-led Mr. And Mrs. Smith and FX’s epic saga Shōgun. Plus, Netflix’s hyped live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender arrives, as does the final round of Curb Your Enthusiasm. And that’s just scratching the surface of what the month has to offer. Mr. And Mrs. Smith (Prime Video, February 2)

Phoebe Waller-Bridge may have quit this Prime Video project, but we must admit: The trailer for Mr. And Mrs. Smith looks promising, with ’s fantastic Maya Erskine taking on Waller-Bridge’s part opposite Donald Glover. In this updated spin on the 2005 Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie movie, Glover and Erskine play gun-toting spies in an arranged marriage. Let’s hope their comedic chemistry in the real thing is as good as it is in the teaser above. [Tim Lowery]

Curb Your Enthusiasm season 12 (HBO, February 4)

If says it’s the end of the road for , then we have to trust him, right? The noted HBO comedy will wrap up after a 10-episode season 12, which begins in February and ends with the series finale on April 7. Without a trailer yet, it’s hard to know what’s coming our way, but Curb will certainly go out with some complaints to air. Tracey Ullman is set to reprise her role as brash councilwoman Irma Kostroski, for starters. Other returning stars include Susie Essman, Cheryl Hines, J.B. Smoove, Ted Danson, and Vince Vaughn. Abbott Elementary season three (ABC, February 7)

Let’s breathe a collective sigh of relief because Abbott Elementary is back—and just in time for Valentine’s Day. (Hopefully the show .) Quinta Brunson’s wonderful sitcom returns for its third season after an overextended hiatus, with only for 14 episodes this time instead of the usual 22. Set in a Philadelphia public school, the mockumentary follows the lives of the teachers and students, with a cast that includes Sheryl Lee Ralph, Lisa Ann Walter, Tyler James Williams, Chris Perfetti, and William Stanford Davis. One Day (Netflix, February 8)

Get ready to swoon with One Day, a romantic drama based on David Nicholls’ book of the same name. (Yes, .) The 14-episode season follows Dexter (Leo Woodall) and Emma’s (Ambika Mod) love story over several years. In 1988, they spoke for the first time as students on graduation day. After that, they decide to meet each other on the same day each year as they navigate their feelings and careers. [Saloni Gajjar]

Halo season two (Paramount+, February 8)

Based on the popular video game, is a 26th-century-set military sci-fi drama about a super-soldier dubbed Master Chief (Pablo Schreiber) and his fight against an alien invasion. In the eight-episode second season, Master Chief continues his journey to save humanity from extinction in a battle against the Covenant. The ensemble features Natasha McElhonne, Shabana Azmi, Yerin Ha, Charlie Murphy, Jen Taylor, and Joseph Morgan. [Saloni Gajjar]

Tracker (CBS, February 11)

’ returns to network TV in a whole new genre. He leads the CBS drama—take that with a grain of salt— as Colter Shaw, who possesses top-notch tracking skills and is a lone-wolf survivalist. Wherever he goes, he helps the common people and law enforcement tackle various mysteries. Mary McDonnell, Robin Weigert, and Abby McEnany round out the ensemble. creator Todd A. Kessler reunites with for his latest drama, The New Look. The biographical series centers on Christian Dior’s (Mendelsohn) rise to fame as he develops his fashion line in post-World War II Paris. Maisie Williams plays his daughter, while Juliette Binoche stars as his rival, Coco Chanel. Look out for other fashion icons as well, including Cristobal Balenciaga (Nuno Lopes) and Lucien Lelong (John Malkovich). What’s more, Glenn Close portrays a Harper’s Bazaar editor, and Claes Bang tackles a German spy. [Saloni Gajjar]

Whew. We’re smitten that  is back for a third season of shenanigans. Inspired by the British sitcom, the follows Sam (Rose McIver), who can interact with the dead living in the mansion she inherits. As she works with her husband, Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), to turn the place into a cozy bed and breakfast, Sam bonds with the otherworldly residents around her. The new episodes will finally reveal which ghost got sucked up into heaven last season and hopefully introduce some new faces. [Saloni Gajjar]

Beloved rapper Vince Staples gets his very own Netflix limited series, which follows a fictional version of the artist as he wanders into a string of surreal situations throughout Long Beach, California. The five-episode comedy was cooked up by the hip-hop favorite himself, along Ian Edelman, and Maurice Williams. creator Kenya Barris executive produces the show, which boasts . [Tim Lowery]

Constellation (Apple TV+, February 21)

Swedish actor Noomi Rapace (the original Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) leads the sci-fi psychological thriller Constellation as Jo, an astronaut who, after a calamity in space, returns to Earth to discover her life and especially her relationship with her daughter is wildly off balance. The great Jonathan Banks co-stars as a grizzled inventor who could have the key to what’s going on, and the scripts come courtesy of British playwright Peter Harness. [Tim Lowery]

Avatar: The Last Airbender (Netflix, February 22)

At long last, the live-action adaptation of series is almost here. The sci-fi coming-of-age drama follows Aang (Cormier), a young Avatar who must master control of the four elements of the world to save the universe. He teams up with siblings Katara and Sokka, and together they seek help from some of the original show’s memorable characters. A ridiculously stacked voice cast—Kieran Culkin, Natasha Lyonne, Stephanie Hsu, Keke Palmer, Maya Rudolph, and Sam Smith—brings this adult-animated workplace comedy to life. scribe Cirocco Dunlap created the series, which deals with the goings-on of a group of extra-terrestrial doctors in a galaxy far, far away. We never thought this day would come, but here we are: will finally reveal what happened to Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) after he temporarily left the franchise was presumed dead at the start of ’s ninth season in 2018. Of course, there’s no Rick without Michonne, so Danai Gurira reunites with Lincoln onscreen. This show will be the sixth TWD spinoff, and it boasts Pollyanna McIntosh returning as Jadis as well as Terry O’Quinn and Lesley Ann Brandt. [Saloni Gajjar]

Shōgun (FX, February 27)

, this new adaptation of James Clavell’s novel is finally becoming a reality. Co-created by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks, Shōgun is a 10-episode limited series that, based on the trailer alone, looks stunning and hella action-packed. In 1600s Japan, an English sailor arrives on a marooned ship with secrets that could help a warrior, Yoshii Toranaga (Sanada), who’s facing a fight for his life against his political enemies. The two men’s lives are further interconnected by the assistance of a translator, played by Anna Sawai, a mysterious noblewoman in the midst of her own battle. [Saloni Gajjar]

The Walking Dead isn’t the only spinoff master on TV. has spawned yet another series with Elsbeth. Led by , the show marks her return to the TGW world as Elsbeth Tascioni, an astute lawyer with a brilliant mind who moves from Chicago to New York City to lend a hand to the NYPD with her peculiar but astute observations.
