Feist will join Broken Social Scene on its new album

Leslie Feist, the lady who counted her way into hearts and Apple ads, is joining forces with some old friends. On Sunday, Feist posted an Instagram indicated that she’s collaborating once gain with Broken Social Scene. She wrote: “Tomorrow I go join my broken brothers to add my ‘loverspit’ to the new #brokensocialscene album. Reunion Union.”

The band last released Forgiveness Rock Record in 2010, but it announced a new effort in July shortly before it performed at Pitchfork. Founder Kevin Drew told The Globe And Mail that the members were inspired to regroup following the terrorist attack at the Bataclan in Paris. “After the Paris attacks [at the Bataclan concert hall last November], a lot of us got on the phone and said we wanted to play,” he said. “That really ripped close to home: the Eagles of Death Metal merch guy getting killed, and knowing that club, having friends play there, being inside of there. We wanted to be with the audience.” Drew also explained in the interview that there’s no release date yet for the album. Feist’s most recent solo endeavor was 2011’s Metals.
