Final Batman: Arkham game coming this year

The final game in the Batman: Arkham series is coming this year, Warner Bros. announced today with a swanky Game Informer cover. Titled Batman: Arkham Knight, it sees the return of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City developer Rocksteady to the helm. (Last year’s more forgettable Arkham Origins was made by rookie studio Warner Bros. Games Montreal.) This new game, which Warner promises will be “the ultimate and complete Batman experience” because the other ones weren’t ultimate enough, expands the Dark Knight’s jurisdiction to the entirety of Gotham City—presumably a much larger area than Arkham City or Origins, and hopefully less empty. To help Batman traverse his new digs, Arkham Knight will mark the first time Rocksteady includes a drivable Batmobile in the games. And he’ll be using it to chase down a band of supervillains united by the Scarecrow, who returns to the series after being the best part of Arkham Asylum.
