Find your Minnie or Mickey on this new Disney-fan dating site

The internet has made an abundance of, well, everything available to just about everyone, but it can come up suspiciously empty on suitable romantic prospects. There are now dozens of niche dating sites to help you separate the wheat from the chaff, including Farmers Only, where separating wheat from chaff is probably a first-date activity. Common interests are important—remember, it’s not what you’re like, it’s what you like—which is why there are sites that match up skaters, gluten-free folks, and the 420-friendly. And now adult fans of Disney movies have a place to find the princess, grand vizier, or nerf-herder (Star Wars falls under the Disney umbrella these days) of their dreams.

The key word in that last sentence is “adult,” as MouseMingle is definitely not some horrible experiment in how quickly you can get raided by the FBI. Founded by Dave Tavres, a former Disney railroad engineer, the dating site seeks to ”connect people who love Disney and who want that same magic” (though hopefully not the antiquated gender roles) in their own relationships. Members are encouraged to seek out their Minnie or Mickey. Building your profile involves checking off your favorite Disney songs and describing your Disney “shopping habits,” presumably so other users know whether to woo you with “I’ll Make A Man Out Of You” or “Let It Go”.

Tavres says he’s always had trouble approaching women, and since other dating sites wouldn’t let him narrow his choices down by preference of The Little Mermaid sequels, he took matters into his own hands. It’s free to browse photos and profiles, but you have to pay a monthly membership fee to make contact. The minimum age for the site is 18, and the options range from getting someone to join you at a Disney park to finding someone to marry. So we’re almost positive that nothing can possibly go wrong.
