There’s nothing immediately scary about hotels, but no doubt Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk will find a way to make the setting of American Horror Story’s fifth season creepy, disturbing, nonsensical, and probably an allegory for…something.
The first teaser for American Horror Story: Hotel is out, and in typical AHS teaser tradition, it’s more visual than informative. This one teases the hotel’s front desk, along with Lady Gaga’s hand, covered in metallic silver with razor sharp fake nails in what could easily be a component of any of her awards show ensembles. As far as AHS teasers go, this is among the least disturbing; it certainly doesn’t compare to the fresh hell that was the Coven and Freak Show teasers.
Gaga was cast in a lead role for the upcoming season, revealing Murphy’s apparent Little Monster status. She joins Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley, Chloë Sevigny, Kathy Bates, and loyal AHS veterans Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.
