With the premiere now just three months away, Marvel’s Inhumans has dropped its first full trailer, and it’s full of royal family strife and meaningful looks. Once again, most of the talking (and threatening) is done by Maximus (Iwan Rheon), who stages a coup against his brother, Black Bolt (Anson Mount), the leader of the Inhumans. That little tiff leads Black Bolt, Medusa (Serinda Swan), and other Inhumans to find refuge on Earth–specifically, Hawaii, which isn’t such a bad place to hide out, as far as those things go.
Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. has teased the story of the Inhumans and their Terrigen Mist-enhanced abilities, but this is our first look at the royal family’s capabilities in action. Well, sort of. Medusa’s hair just hangs down her back, though we do see how destructive even a grunt from Black Bolt can be. But at least the trailer finally introduces Lockjaw, who arrives to whisk the king away at a most opportune moment.
Marvel’s Inhumans will have its two-hour broadcast premiere September 29 on ABC after it debuts on IMAX September 1.
