John Singleton’s latest Los Angeles-based project looks to be every bit as gritty and compelling a drama as his previous films Baby Boy and Boyz N The Hood, if this teaser for Snowfall is any indication. FX’s newest drama will trace the origins and consequences of the crack cocaine epidemic in 1980s Los Angeles. There will be multiple converging storylines, including one that follows Franklin Saint (Damson Idris), a “young street entrepreneur on a quest for power.” He’s bloodied and beaten when the teaser begins and ends, though, which suggests Singleton and his showrunner, Justified’s Dave Andron, won’t be letting up.
Snowfall lands this summer on FX.
