Five imported series made us sit up and take notice
For 2013’s best-of-TV list, The A.V. Club’s TV writers got together to discuss the shows that got us talking the most over the past 12 months. We’re unveiling those shows, one per publication day, culminating in our picks for the top three of the year.
This was a watershed year for foreign TV shows making American debuts, and many of those series were legitimately great—here are five of our favorites. Four of them—Black Mirror, The Fall, Moone Boy, and Please Like Me—can be watched in an afternoon, and the fifth—Borgen—can be watched over the course of a week. We’ve put together this video with some clips from (and commentary about) each of these new shows—enjoy.
