Hip-hop hype man and former chicken tycoon Flavor Flav was arrested over the weekend in Las Vegas, stemming from a supposedly routine stop that led to the discovery of four outstanding warrants for various traffic-related infractions. All in all, it wasn’t that big a deal—it certainly doesn’t stir the same misty-eyed pathos as Rick Springfield’s DUI from last night—but Flavor Flav has since taken to his Twitter account to decry the brief amount of time he spent in jail because of a “curious Rookie Ass Cop” who just “wanted to make a name for himself” by pulling him over as he was coming home from a pleasant night at Benihana's. Between this and last year’s similar arrest of Ice-T by a “punk bitch rookie cop” for not wearing his seatbelt, it seems clear: The police department has instituted some sort of secret initiation program by which all rookie officers can advance their careers by arresting former hip-hop artists turned reality-TV stars for minor moving violations. Coolio is hereby advised to make sure his registration is up to date.
