Flip Or Flop expands to 5 new cities with 5 new, non-divorcing couples
HGTV’s slightly embattled Flip Or Flop is expanding beyond its Orange County roots. The network has announced that the show is getting five new regional spin-offs over the next two years, each of which will be hosted by a new couple that will hopefully not be currently in the process of getting an acrimonious divorce.
The new Flip Or Flops will take place in Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Texas, and Las Vegas, with Vegas premiering first, on April 6. That show will be hosted by MMA fighter Bristol Marunde and his wife Aubrey, who’ll take on similar “he’s the contractor, she’s the designer” roles to pretty much every other couple-centric show on HGTV.
According to HGTV general manager for U.S. programming and development Allison Page, the spin-offs exist “because every market is unique,” and were in development long before Flip Or Flop’s Tarek and Christina El Moussa announced their separation.
