Foo Fighters are going on hiatus or maybe breaking up or something, or maybe neither of those
Though it's definitely not the first time he's made this sort of vague pronouncement, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has kind of, sort of hinted at an indefinite hiatus for the band, telling a Central Park audience that it would be its last show for a while. "Without making a big deal out of it, we don't have any shows after this," Grohl told the crowd and thus the Internet, who immediately set about making a big deal of it. "This is it, man… Honestly, I don't know when we're gonna do it again." Of course, much like tuning into a modern rock radio station, you usually never have to wait too long before hearing more Foo Fighters—and as we mentioned, Grohl has said this sort of thing before, only to pop up within the next couple of years with new albums, new tours, and new hints at hiatuses. So it's possible that Grohl just sort of gets easily sentimental when coming up with stage banter, translating to the sorts of grand farewells people sign in yearbooks even though you know you're gonna see them again in like a month. Perhaps he should just start saying, "Stay cool and have a neat summer."
