For author Thomas Frank, complacency is at the center of Democrats’ problems

In his most recent book, Listen, Liberal: Or, What Ever Happened To The Party Of The People?, Thomas Frank outlines the Democratic Party’s repeated failure to advance liberal goals—fighting for workers’ rights, social justice, and government expansion. The A.V. Club recently talked with Frank about his book as well as the presidential election. In the interview, Frank expands on much of the themes he discusses in his book, including how the Democratic Party is fostering a culture of complacency that could spell doom.
