Forget about putting your mind back together, because FX has just renewed Legion
Season one of Legion isn’t done fucking with our minds yet, but FX has just green-lit another batch of reality-warping episodes. The network announced via press release that it’s just ordered a second season, thereby affording Noah Hawley several more opportunities to make us as fearful of beagles as we are bedtime stories.
Presidents of programming Eric Schrier and Nick Grad shared the good news about Legion, which is one of the most-watched dramas (even if it’s just through glances stolen from between your fingers) on TV right now. Schrier boasted: “The first season of Legion was a stunning achievement. More than a new series, Legion is a wholly original take on the super hero genre. Our thanks to Noah Hawley for taking the creative risks and shattering expectations. It’s a privilege to work again with Noah, his producing partners, the outstanding cast and our partners at Marvel Television on another season of Legion.” (See what happens when you don’t worry about tie-ins and crossovers, Netflix?)
Marvel boss Jeph Loeb said he was thrilled by the news, noting that “Noah’s spectacular take on David Haller and all the other characters he brought to life makes us ache for more. We’re particularly proud of our partners at FX and the success we share on our first TV series together.”
Episode six of Legion airs tonight, whether or not you’re ready for it (you’re probably not). Tonight’s episode was directed by Hiro Murai, who’s done some amazing work on Legion’s network-mate, Atlanta.
