Forking hell, The Good Place is finally back

Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Wednesday, September 20. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

The Good Place (NBC, 10:01 p.m.): It’s a special night and time for the hour-long premiere of this sitcom. After pulling one of the all-time great switcheroos at the end of its first season, The Good Place is beginning its sophomore year with our protagonists in a tough spot. Everyone’s memory was rebooted, meaning they can’t recall a thing about the entire arc we saw play out previously. All Eleanor has to go on is her note to herself: “Find Chidi.” We’d recommend binging the previous season before you start, but if you don’t want to wait, just jump the fork on board this show, already. Dennis Perkins will be counting the good deeds in his weekly reviews.

Regular coverage

South Park (Comedy Central, 10 p.m.)
You’re The Worst (FXX, 10 p.m.)
Broad City (Comedy Central, 10:30 p.m.)

Wild card

Channel Zero: No-End House (Syfy, 10 p.m.): The first season of the creepypasta-derived horror anthology was uneven but managed to deliver some real chills. Here’s hoping the show learned a lot from its initial outing, and can provide scares and a narrative that can sustain a full season this time around.
