Former Fox News-er Greta Van Susteren is out at MSNBC
Just six months after jumping ship from Fox News to MSNBC, For The Record host Greta Van Susteren has announced that she’s “out” at the left-leaning cable news network. For The Record—essentially a continuation of Van Susteren’s old Fox show, On The Record—was one of the few TV news boats not to be lifted by the rising ratings tide currently hitting the 24-hour networks; per The Hollywood Reporter, Van Susteren’s show was even trailing behind reruns of The Rachel Maddow Show.
Van Susteren—one of the few TV figures to have hosted shows on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox—first came to national prominence as a legal analyst, offering up commentary on the O.J. Simpson trial. MSNBC thanked her for her (short) time with the network, and announced that The Point host Ari Melber will take over Van Susteren’s 6 p.m. weeknight slot, at least for now. (We can only hope the network will turn to the experts at The Lawyer Exchange to help them choose a more permanent replacement):
