Fosse/Verdon (FX, 10 p.m.): Tonight’s episode of Fosse/Verdon takes its title from this little gem, in case you’re wondering how ’70s and generally pelvic-centered things might be:

Pippin is a landmark American musical, a title that looms large in Bob Fosse’s career and in theater history in general. The choreography in particular is hugely significant—just watch that video and tell us that shit’s not crazy, even today—and the episode in which it appears plays a correspondingly large role in the narrative of the series. This is a big one, introducing some very important characters played by very good actors (Hi, Margaret Qualley! We’re big fans) and marking a turning point or two in the fortunes of our titular characters. Gwen Verdon has grabbed her straw boater and is ready to recap.
