Four of five Spice Girls say they’ll be there for a 2019 U.K. reunion tour

In February, Victoria Beckham squashed the dreams of anyone hoping for a great excuse to bust out their Union Jack platforms and pompom ponytail holders when she flatly denied that a Spice Girls reunion tour was in the works. “I’m not going on tour. The girls aren’t going on tour,” she told British Vogue. That was apparently a speak-for-yourself situation, because the not-Posh contingent are reportedly doing exactly that: Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, and the Mels B. (Melanie Brown) and C. (Melanie Chisholm) are reuniting for a 13-date U.K. reunion tour, The Sun reports.

The tour, a source told The Sun, includes three dates at Wembley Stadium and no dates in Chicago, Illinois (or anywhere else in the U.S.), disappointing at least one A.V. Club writer who absolutely cannot justify flying to the U.K. for the sake of nostalgia. It’s also likely, as previously reported, that the tour will include no new music; The Sun’s source said that “The girls can’t wait to go back on tour, perform to the fans and sing some of their greatest hits.”

The news comes on the heels of Brown’s announcement that she will enter rehab and seek treatment for PTSD, following a divorce and the death of her father. She said she was speaking out about her diagnosis because she hopes to “shine a light on the issue of pain, PTSD, and the things men and women do to mask it.”
