Critically acclaimed—and therefore, marked for death—drama Lone Star has met its inevitable fate, with Fox yanking it from the lineup late yesterday afternoon. The first casualty of the fall TV season (it should have been you, My Generation) posted 20-percent lower numbers for Monday’s episode than its already low-rated premiere, although everyone—including its creator—talking about how the show would almost definitely be canceled probably contributed to that general feeling of “why bother?” even among those who enjoyed the debut. Fox will replace Lone Star with new episodes of Lie To Me starting immediately; there’s no word yet on if or when it plans to burn off the show’s four remaining episodes.
