Fox News snubs Joan Rivers for saying mean things about Sarah Palin
The unchecked tyranny of talk show hosts continues, beginning with Piers Morgan’s recent preemptive ban of a huge swath of people no one particularly wants to talk to anyway and Madonna, and now being joined by Fox And Friends refusing to talk to Joan Rivers. The comedian was scheduled to appear tomorrow—with daughter Melissa in tow—to discuss their new show, Joan And Melissa: Joan Knows Best?, but that’s reportedly been canceled now that someone at Fox happened upon Rivers’ interview with TMZ, during which she laid partial blame for the recent Arizona shootings on Sarah Palin, saying she’s “stupid and a threat” and urging her to take the benefit of her “strong woman” example to another planet. Sarah Palin is no doubt composing a video response as we speak, in which she adamantly declares that she will not be launched into outer space.
UPDATE: Fox has responded, saying Rivers' comments had nothing to do with it, that it was all just a result of being "over-booked"—which they apparently just now realized the day before the show—and that the producer "mistakenly" canceled her appearance instead of rescheduling it. Then, once they discovered the mistake, they just forgot to call her back, we guess, and then all this hoopla! Anyway, there's been no indication yet of if or when Rivers' appearance will actually be rescheduled.
